LED, the Light of the Ready

We already know that LED is the most profitable, ecological and efficient lighting source. With this alone, we could affirm that, indeed, the LED is the light of the smart ones.

However, in this post we are going to discuss another topic related, not so much to the performance of the lamp, but to the performance of people, something increasingly relevant in an increasingly competitive world.

Human performance depends, first of all, on the capabilities of each person. Thus, factors such as intelligence, technique, training, knowledge become important… In addition to these elements, there are others that vary depending on the situation and are what make us capable, or not, of developing our full potential. Among these aspects, we have: mood, level of tiredness or stress, health, motivation… This second group of factors has the peculiarity of varying depending on the circumstances. personal, environmental, emotional… That is why we must take the necessary measures to generate the conditions that enhance our capabilities.

Companies invest resources in training, coaching, events, gatherings and other activities that contribute to improving the integration of employees with the company. Furthermore, relatively recently, work has been carried out on the layout of workplaces, meeting rooms and, even the most avant-garde ones, on providing leisure or rest areas to improve the situation of its employees and, with it, their performance. .

NATURE AS A CHANNEL OF PERFORMANCE

In 2008, scientists at the University of Michigan published the study “Cognitive Benefits of Interaction with Nature”. In this study, two groups of people are subjected to intellectual activities in different environments. After memorizing a sequence of numbers, the first group is taken for a walk through the botanical garden and the second group is taken to the city center. Upon returning from the walk, they are examined again and it is found that those who went to the botanical garden now retain even more information than what they retained at the time of memorizing the sequences. On the contrary, the results of people who went to the city center are considerably worse.

The study was expanded with different hypotheses and scenarios, and the conclusions continued to establish that the human brain works better in natural environments, and worse in artificial environments.

NATURAL LIGHT AND ITS INFLUENCE ON THE BRAIN

Man has lived off sunlight since its appearance until 2,500 years ago, when the first lanterns began to be created. Artificial light has only been around for a few hundred years. Is it possible that in those approximately 250 years the brain has adapted and is capable of processing artificial light as naturally as sunlight? Is it possible that in this short period of time man has been able to artificially simulate the same light conditions as nature?

The answer to both questions is no. Without a doubt, 250 years of evolution are nothing compared to the tens of thousands of years that we have been subjected to natural conditions. The inheritance of those thousands of years makes our organs and biorhythms accustomed to natural light, so prolonged exposure to this type of light generates conflicts that begin with discomfort and can end in diseases. . This is why, without a doubt, natural light is the most recommended to optimize people’s performance at work.

As for the second question. It is true that natural light has not yet been reproduced perfectly, although it is also true that we are getting closer and closer. And it is also true that, given what we have seen, the LED seems to be the path towards the naturalness of light.

LED AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO NATURAL LIGHT

As we have mentioned, we have not yet managed to match the sun when it comes to generating natural light, but we are getting closer. In this sense, the emergence of LEDs has been an important step in this process of imitating nature. When RGB technology is introduced, primary colors are used to reproduce the chromatic scale more faithfully. Also, in the Harvard University< /a>, studies have been done decomposing beams of light and studying the characteristics and possibilities of each of them. In this way, it has been discovered that the blue tone characteristic of SMD LED technology improves learning and is recommended for the development of intellectual activities. In addition, it stimulates the eye, increasing its acuity and, what may be more surprising, improving mood.

In conclusion, we can say that it would not be entirely correct to claim that LED makes us smarter, but it is true that it creates the perfect scenario for us to develop our abilities and, therefore, contributes to making us smarter. Choose Quality LED to increase all these benefits!
